OMG cupcakes!

Cupcakes! I want cupcakes and I want them from Kokolita Cakes, a bakery in Valencia, CA.
These are the best cupcakes I have ever tasted, we purchased 3 cupcakes that day, Mr. President, Holly Golightly, and warm brown sugar with marshmallow inside! I had them carefully place them in a box to take them home, so I could take images of them. Once I got home, I went outside for natural sunlight and started placing the cupcakes one by one taking images. They photographed so beautiful! We waited to eat them until after dinner, we put a movie in and cut them in 4's so everyone could have a taste of each one. OMG! These were the best cupcakes I have had in YEARS!!! I will be going back and I think you guys should stop if you are in the area. You should take a look at their menu to see the inspiration behind the different flavors!

I love street food!

Can I just tell you that I am totally in love with the street food movement! The more gatherings I go to the more food I am finding that, well let's just say I have to write about!

My first stop was to the Philly Please truck, as I looked over the menu, I wasn't sure what to try until.....I saw Buffalo Cheese Steak! I am a huge fan of spicy flavor, buffalo and chipotle, just to name a few. I ordered the half sandwich since I knew I had to stop at other trucks. I talked to the owner Miguel about his truck and he went back and made my sandwich special. I quickly took pictures with my 7D and my Iphone, the natural light was fading by the minute and I wanted to capture this sandwich in it's beauty.

The next stop was the Fry Smith, I got the veggie frys. They were way to big for just one person. So, I was wishing someone had come along to share these.

The last stop was heaven! The Buttermilk truck, I know your thinking what? Buttermilk truck! Yes, they have some awesome items, one of which I had to try Red Velvet Chocolate Chip Pancakes with heavenly Vanilla icing! OMG! I could have eaten 100 of these!

All in All the trucks in Burbank that night were a hit! There were a few others that I wanted to try, but I can only eat so much! Many next time I will take others with me!

Donuts and Bakeries

If there is one thing I REALLY  love it's donuts and good donuts and other pastries with nuts in them. I stopped by a little place on Valencia Blvd and picked up different yet, similar, cake donuts! These are my favorite, I got one with chocolate icing and one with white icing. Both were very good, I am picky about the cake part and these were perfect! I icing just topped it off for both of these. 

The next place I stopped, Dink's is a family run bagel and bakery, I got a cinnamon roll and a pecan sticky bun. Call me a fan! That pecan sticky bun was so good and it photographed nicely too!

It's BBQ time

Since it now spring, I am sure everyone will be firing up the grill, I know I will. I had the privilege of shooting the Las Vegas Grill. The variety of meats that they smoke is a meat lovers paradise! I really like the jerk pineapple sauce that the use on the ribs! There were so many images from this shoot that I fell in love with it was hard for me to choose which ones to share with you. So here it is, Ribs and sausage (which is homemade) with sides of potato salad, rainbow coleslaw, and spicy beans. The image below are handmade meatballs. Check them out on Sahara and Buffalo.

Action beverage photography- cherry drop

Beverage Photography can be tricky and challenging yet fun. This type of action shot takes a lot of prep time and timing of the camera shutter. I've attempted to do this process by myself, but I find it much easier to do this with an assistant, one person to click the shutter and one person to drop the item into the drink. The results though are fantastic!

Street food from Food trucks

I am totally in love with the concept of the Food Trucks. These trucks have dishes with a twist. This street food movement is a growing force in the culinary industry, with more trucks popping up all over the country. The bun above is from Great Bao, it is a pork belly with green chiles, cheese and cilantro. The picture below is Apple Fritters from Roaming Dough, can I just tell you that these little devils are addictive. I get them every time I see the truck. They also have bacon wrapped dates that are off the hook. This is one of the best desserts coming out of the trucks. If you want to follow them on twitter @roamindough

Fabulous Food Fotos at Biaggio's pizzaria

Biaggios' pizzaria a small place in Las Vegas, with a BIG personality. The first time I walked in Biaggio's there was nothing on the walls. I introduced myself as a local food photographer and that were this relationship began. After a few meeting, it was set to take pictures of his food and turn it into artwork for his walls. This image of the Peperoni Pizza is now 4' x 4' along with many other images including Spaghetti and meatballs, salad, garlic knots and zeppoli's, just to name a few. This was my first job that I had printed so big. It was a challenge to make sure every nook and cranny was just right with printing an images this big. It is truely a pizza in your face! I love my job as The Las Vegas Photographer. Food photographer a photographer who specilizes in food imagery!
